ABOUT US
Parkersburg South High School rowing was established in 1996 and is one of two high school teams in the state. The team routinely competes at the national level in both scholastic and junior rowing and has had multiple alumni row at the collegiate level.

SEASONS
Rowers are welcome to join in any season.
FALL
Typically fall season begins the second week of school and runs through the last week of October. These are longer distance races (typically 5,000 meters). Fall practices are at the boathouse Monday - Thursday, 4:00-6:00 pm with races on Saturday.
WINTER
Starts after Thanksgiving break and runs until mid-February. Main focus is conditioning for the spring season but there are some optional indoor races. Conditioning is held at South Tuesday - Thursday, right after school until 6:00pm.
SPRING
Spring season starts mid to late February and runs util the end of May/ early June. These shorter sprint races are 1,500 meters or 2,000 meters. Practices are at the boathouse Monday - Friday, 4:00-6:00pm with races Saturday. Races later in the season are regional championships with the potential to qualify for national level competitions.
SUMMER
Summer season is a relaxed learn to row season with no official practices but potentially a few optional fun races. A learn to row camp is usually held the second week in July.
